Consult the following materials to prepare for an (ISC)2 certification exam:

  •   The (ISC)2 provides overviews for each exam. For CISSP, visit http://www.isc2.org/cgi/content.cgi?category=19; for SSCP, visit http://www.isc2.org/cgi/content.cgi?category=20. You also can download study guides for the CISSP and SSCP.
  •
  • If you take the CBK Review Class, consult the student manuals for review. It offers comprehensive coverage of topics that appear on the CISSP exam (and covers more knowledge areas than appear on the SSCP exam). For more information on the course, see  http://www.isc2.org/cgi-bin/content.cgi?category=15.
  • Some third-party books can help you get ready for the CISSP exam. Sybex offers the CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional Study Guide by Ed Tittel, Mike Chapple, and James Michael Stewart (2003). Another terrific resource is the CISSP Training Guide by Roberta Bragg (Que Certification, 2002). A quick visit to an online bookstore, with a search on "CISSP," turns up numerous titles from a variety of publishers. The list is shorter for "SSCP," but adequate.

With a little digging around in your favorite search engine, a quick review of the objectives, and any books or training materials you can lay hands on, you should be able to get ready for either exam. Good luck!
