Conclusion

Now that you've seen how to work with SVG's basic shapes and explored many ways to control text in SVG, take Challenge 3 to test your newfound abilities!

Challenge 3

3.1

Create a well-formed, valid SVG document.

3.2

Create an image consisting of several shapes (can be your own or you can try to copy any interesting logo or image, as long as you don't try to claim it's your own!)

3.3

Make your shape into a reusable shape. If it consists of several "pieces," make each into a reusable shape.

3.4

Add text to your image.

3.5

Change fonts or font properties within the text (e.g., This sentence changes properties.)

3.6

Experiment with super- and subscripts.

3.7

Experiment with placing text on a path. The path does not have to be curved.

Well, that's it for Chapter 3. You're well on your way to being able to create interesting and sophisticated SVG files that contain both pictures and words!
