Summary
This chapter introduced the basic SVG graphic shapes: the line, rect, circle, ellipse, polyline, and polygon elements. These elements allow commonly used regular shapes, such as lines, rectangles, and circles to be created. The attributes of these SVG elements are used to position them onscreen and to control their size and styling.
In addition, you saw how to use linear and radial gradients in SVG, as well as the syntax to create arbitrary patterns in your SVG images.
We also described the SVG DOM interfaces for the basic shapes, gradients, and patterns.
