The Workshop provides quiz questions to help you solidify your understanding of the material covered today as well as exercises to give you experience using what you have learned. Try to understand the quiz and exercises before continuing to tomorrow's lesson. Answers are provided in Appendix A, "Answers to Quizzes and Exercises."

1. What is the common language runtime?

2. What is an assembly?

3. What is a namespace?

4. What is Internet Information Services, and what's it used for?

5. What makes a Web page dynamic?

6. What is a Web Service?

7. What's the difference between a Web Service and a Web server? How are they related?

  1. Does your Internet Information Services Web server have help files installed? Locate the virtual directories that contain these help files and take some time to browse through them.

  2. Create a project directory for tomorrow's lesson on your computer's hard drive. Next, create a virtual directory that "points" to the project directory just created.

  3. Try adding some HTML files to a virtual directory on your computer. If you aren't familiar with HTML, look for HTML documentation on the Internet, using a search site such as http://www.yahoo.com or http://www.google.com.
