Dynamic Update Configuration
The capability of a Windows 2000 DNS server to accept dynamic update information is a configurable option that is disabled by default. To enable dynamic updates for a standard zone, do the following:
Open DNS from the Administrative Tools menu.
Right-click the zone you want to configure, and then click Properties.
Under the General tab, set Allow Dynamic Updates to Yes.
Figure 3.10 shows the Properties page of an Active Directory Integrated zones and the update options available. The options available are Yes (allow dynamic updates) and No (disallow dynamic updates). If the zone is an Active Directory Integrated zone, there is also an option to allow Only Secure Updates.
