Recommendations on Testing
It's clear from the test drive that upgrading to Commerce Server for those running Site Server is definitely a good idea, even for a pilot. The trouble for many Site Server users is that given the deficiencies of that first server platform they have most likely moved already to a platform that provides greater functionality. What is surprising about Commerce Server 2000 is that its price at $8,499 for a single processor license is significantly below the comparable products from BroadVision, Blue Martini, ATG, and others in this arena. If your company is considering a B2C effort Commerce Server is worth a test drive. Be sure to use the samples off the Microsoft site to save the $9K.
