Setting Alert Sounds

If you want the Galaxy Tab 2 to make noise when you perform different actions, such as when you tap something on the screen, you can change the alert sounds or turn them off entirely.

  1. Tap the clock in the Notification bar.

  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sound.
  4. Tap Volume.
  5. Change the volume for music, video, games, and other media, notifications, and system sounds by dragging the appropriate slider bar to the left (lower volume) or right (higher volume).
  6. Tap OK.
  7. Tap Default Notifications.
  8. Set the notification ringtone from the menu. This ringtone plays whenever you receive a notification. If you don’t want a ringtone, scroll to the top of the list and tap Silent.
  9. Tap OK.
  10. Tap Touch Sounds to play a sound when you make a screen selection.
  11. Tap Screen Lock Sound to play sounds when you lock and unlock the screen.
