Managing Your Social Networking with Seesmic
Similar to TweetDeck is Seesmic. Like TweetDeck, Seesmic lets you read messages from and post messages to a variety of social networks.
Seesmic is available in several different versions:
- Seesmic Web is a web-based version of the application that works in any web browser. Seesmic Web works with Facebook, Foursquare, Google Buzz, LinkedIn, Ping.fm, and Twitter.
- Seesmic Desktop is a traditional desktop application, like TweetDeck for Desktop. It is available for both Windows and Mac, and works with more than 50 online services, including Facebook, Google Buzz, LinkedIn, Ping.fm, and Twitter.
- Seesmic Mobile is a version of the application for mobile smartphones. It is available for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows 7 platforms. Seesmic for iPhone works with Facebook, Ping.fm, and Twitter; Seesmic for Windows 7 works with Facebook and Twitter; and Seesmic for Android and Blackberry work only with Twitter.
All versions of Seesmic are free. Learn more and download the version of your choice at http://www.seesmic.com.
Seesmic Web is perhaps the most interesting version, as you don’t need to download any software; just point your browser to http://www.seesmic.com/products/web and log in with your Twitter account. Once you’ve logged on, you can add your other social networking accounts.
Posts from each of your social networks display in separate columns within the browser window. You can “like,” retweet, reply, comment on, and such to each post by using the controls that appear when you highlight a post.
