Customizing Your Blogger Blog
A blog is a personal thing. You pour your heart and soul into your blog posts; your blog reflects your thoughts and your personality.
Or at least the content does. If you’re like a lot of bloggers, the look and feel of your blog is a bit... well, generic.
Wouldn’t it be better if your blog looked a little more personal? A different color scheme, perhaps a slightly different layout, different fonts, maybe even some custom images? Somethinganythingto make it look more like it’s yours, not one of a thousand other blogs with the same template.
Well, you can personalize your Blogger blog. It’s actually quite easy, on a basic level, with more advanced options available if you’re into that. Read on to learn how.
Choosing a New Template
Let’s start with the easy stuff first. When you first created your blog, Blogger had you choose from a half dozen or so basic templatescombinations of layout, colors, and fonts. The good news is, it’s relatively to change templatesand there are a lot more templates available than what you saw when you first signed up.
Here’s how you change templates. Start by opening the Blogger Dashboard and clicking the Layout link for your blog. When the Layout tab appears, click the Pick New Template sub-tab. You now see three dozen or so available templates; some are variations on a theme, in terms of colors and such, but it’s a larger variety than what you had to choose from initially (Figure 1).
Anyway, click the template you want to use; you can click the Preview Template link to see what it looks like before you make the switch. When you’re ready to go, click the Save Template button, and all your existing blog content will be transferred to the new template.
