Joint Announcements with Adobe
RIM announced with Adobe that the Adobe Flash Player will be available for the BlackBerry platform, but not when it would be available. Instead of announcing any other products, the two companies merely demonstrated early beta versions of potential future products:
- Adobe Creative Suite. A future version will enable designers and developers to create BlackBerry smartphone-optimized graphics quickly and efficiently. RIM and Adobe will also improve integration between the Adobe Creative Suite and the BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse. With this improvement, the collaboration process between designers and developers (using their respective industry-standard tools) will be greatly enhanced. This allows developers and designers to work together more closely during development of a product that uses graphical elements.
- Adobe Dreamweaver. A future version will feature enhancements that enable web designers to create BlackBerry smartphone websites and widgets.
- Adobe AIR. Expect a future version of the BlackBerry browser to support the Adobe AIR runtime.
