If you used to use the AutoSummarize feature from the Tools menu, you might think it was removed from Word 2007. However, it has only been hidden. Like other features that are low-use among most word processing users, AutoSummarize isn’t on the Ribbon or accessible from another interface. You must add the button for the feature to the Quick Access Toolbar, which by default sports the save, undo, and redo buttons.
If you want to use AutoSummarize in Word 2007, right-click anywhere on the Quick Access Toolbar and select Customize Quick Access Toolbar. For the Choose Commands From field, select Commands Not in the Ribbon (see Figure 3), and then find and double-click the AutoSummarize Tools entry. Now you can access the tool by clicking the icon from the Quick Access Toolbar.
