Conclusion

My experiences, particularly when I had to add a script to run just after boot (read about this in the "Setup in VirtualBox" section) led me to believe that this version really isn't ready for prime time yet. Every time I found a feature I liked, I ran into another problem.

Anyone who is thinking about going with OpenSUSE 11 for anything other than experimentation should wait until 11.3 or maybe 12+. Too much stuff in the distribution either is missing or not working correctly. I think it'll be great once it's fixed, and I'm sure that it will be fixed. OpenSUSE has had great distributions in the past. But if you need something that works right now, OpenSUSE 11.0 is not for you.
