Answers

  1. Click the System button near the bottom of the screen, select the shut down option from the dialog that appears, and then click the OK button.

  2. Realistically, your only option is to buy a Linux-compatible modem. Details on the types of modems that are compatible with Linux can be found in Hour 1.

  3. To connect, start the Network Configuration tool, select your modem and click the Activate button to activate your network connection.

  4. To disconnect, start the Network Configuration tool, select your modem and click the Deactivate button.

Activities

  1. Restart your computer and use GRUB to start Windows to familiarize yourself with the process.

  2. Try connecting to and disconnecting from your ISP several times to familiarize yourself with the process.
