Promoting the E-Portal

A key element in the successful implementation of an e-portal is its promotion. An extensive marketing campaign should make users aware of the e-portal's existence. The organization should also put measures in place to encourage users to use the new e-portal—for example, by arranging to give higher supplier splits to suppliers who use the e-portal, offering discounts to customers who sign up with the e-portal, or removing the option of carrying out business processes in the traditional manner once an option is available for carrying it out on the e-portal.
