Publishing Your Groove Contact
This lesson covers contacts, the people you groove with. They're business colleagues, club associates, friends, and family. They're anyone with whom you share a common interest and thus a need to communicate. Other Groove users regard you as a contact.
A critical prerequisite for grooving is exchanging contact information with other people. This is similar to exchanging phone numbers or email addresses, except that your Groove contact is actually a file and thus can't be exchanged verbally. Instead, you publish your contact in search directories, send it by email, or even hand-deliver it on a floppy disk. The following sections show you how to define the identity information associated with your Groove contact (in other words, the information about yourself you make available to others). You'll also learn how to list your contact in public directories, send your contact to other people, and choose options for showing your online presence to other people.
