Final Conclusions

The future of telecommunications technologies has much promise. We can only begin to imagine what changes will be taking place in both local and wide area networks. Surely, the Internet and TCP/IP will play a major role in the development of these networks for the future.

Telecommunications devices keep getting smaller and smaller. As the equipment gets smaller and devices converge into one, we'll see a wireless unit that can provide audio, video, and data in one package. A good example of a converged device is the Dick Tracy two-way wrist TV, which is very close to becoming a reality. WOW!

What else can I say? I'm speechless!

It has been a great technological ride for me. I can't wait to see the devices and networks of the future. I expect there will be plenty more to evaluate and write about during my lifetime!
