Marking and Unmarking Files as Private
Private Mode is directly supported by the Gallery, Video, Music, and Voice Recorder apps. That is, you can mark any of these apps' files as private from within the app. To mark other types of files as private (such as PDFs and Microsoft Office documents, for example), use the My Files app.
Marking Photos, Videos, Songs, or Audio Recordings as Private
- Enable Private Mode by opening Settings, tapping the Private Mode icon, and then dragging the slider to the On position (refer to Figure 3).
- To mark photos, videos, songs, or audio recordings as private, launch Gallery, Video, Music, or Voice Recorder, respectively.
Select one or more items, tap the menu icon, and choose Move to Private (see Figure 5). The selected items are moved into the Private folder. When viewed in Video, Music, or Voice Recorder, private files are marked with a keyhole icon. In Gallery, you can find them all in the Private folder (in Album view) or marked with a keyhole icon (in Time view).

- Choose a file type by tapping a Quick Search icon, such as Images, Videos, Documents, or Audio.
- Tap Device Storage or SD Card and then navigate to the folder that contains the target files.

Unmarking Private Files

Do either of the following to restore files designated as private to their normal, non-private state:
- Launch the Gallery, Video, Music, or Voice Recorder app, select the private files (marked with a keyhole icon or, in the case of Gallery, in the Private folder) that you want to restore, tap the menu icon, and choose Remove from Private.
- Launch My Files, tap the Private icon (in the Local Storage section, as shown previously in Figure 6), select the private files that you want to restore, tap the menu icon, and choose Remove from Private (see Figure 8).
