If this trio of e-commerce plugins doesn’t suit your needs, there are plenty of other options. Here are a few more good choices:
- Easy Digital Downloads—If you only want to sell digital downloads, Easy Digital Downloads offers a simple solution designed specifically for this task with multiple payment gateways, earnings and sales graphs, discount codes, and file download logs. From its collection of free and paid extensions, you can offer free downloads, additional payment options, affiliate commissions, and more. Digital Store is the official theme for this plugin, which also works with other WordPress themes.
- Ecwid—Offering a free WordPress plugin that includes Facebook integration, Ecwid provides an easy way to test out social commerce with a Facebook store that complements your WordPress online store. With the free plan, you can sell up to 10 physical or digital products. Paid plans enable you to sell more products and include numerous additional features, but come with monthly fees. Figure 5 shows a sample of Ecwid in action.
- Jigoshop—Jigoshop is another solid choice for an online store, offering a free plugin supplemented with premium themes and extensions. Jigoshop extensions support advanced functionality such as subscriptions, new product badges, e-learning integration, video product tabs, a “name your price” feature, and much more.
- TheCartPress—A free plugin that supports physical and digital products, international sales, discounts, coupons, and complex product structures, TheCartPress also offers a free theme, Bootstrap Responsive eCommerce. Like most other e-commerce plugins, TheCartPress comes with an assortment of extensions.
