Tip 6: Engage in the Conversation
Many people create a Google+ profile and don't do much else. Like your presence on other social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, your Google+ presence should be dynamic, not static. To get noticed and get results, you need to participate. One way to do this is to share your own quality content. Another option is to find relevant posts from other users and start adding comments and showing your support by using the +1 button (similar to Facebook's Like button). For example, find leaders in your industry on Google+ and add your own compelling, insightful comments on their most interesting posts. Because many other people read and comment on a thought leader's posts, your own commentary gets more visibility. You're likely to find numerous like-minded people this way, who in turn might add you to their circles or contact you directly. You can search for people by name in the Search box at the top of the Google+ page, or use a tool such as FindPeopleonPlus to locate others in your industry.
