Adding People to Your Social Network
The Social Connector for Outlook also makes it easy to add people you communicate with via email to your social networks. To add the sender, you'd click the Add button below the profile photo in the People Pane and select the desired network. To add other recipients of the message, you'd click their thumbnail and then click the Add button.
Once you're connected with the person, they accept your request, and you'll see an icon for the social appear next to the Add button. You can click this icon to open their profile.
Viewing Your Social Network Contacts
Some social network providers (such as LinkedIn and MySpace) automatically download the contact details of your friends or connections into Outlook. The great thing about this is that you can now directly email friends orconnections of your social networks. You aren't confined anymore to communicating only via the social network site.
To view the contact details of your social networking buddies in Outlook, you'd click the Contacts button on the Navigation Pane and select the contact group for the desired social network. Then you can browse the contacts. You'll see the profile photos and basic contact info. Then you can open the Contact to view or add more details.
Now you should know how to install and use the Social Connector for Outlook. If you have any questions or run into problems, check out Microsoft's site or FAQ on the topic. Remember to check the updated list of providers to see whether there are any new ones.
