Untitled If you want to do a major reorganization of a presentation that contains numerous slides, consider printing handouts with either six or nine slides per page first so you can more easily analyze your entire presentation before making changes.

If you're going to provide your audience with PowerPoint handouts, it's usually a good idea to hand them out after you're finished presenting. Why? You want to be sure your audience is focusing on what you're saying and not on reading handouts during your actual presentation.

Occasionally, you may also want to hide PowerPoint slides from view during an onscreen presentation but not delete them from the presentation itself. To do that, select the slide or slides you want to hide and click the Hide Slide button on the Slide Sorter toolbar. The slides remain in the presentation, but they aren't displayed when you run your slideshow. This is often easier than creating a custom show, particularly if you don't plan to repeat this version of your presentation.

Verify that the AutoPreview check box is selected so that you can preview your PowerPoint slide transitions as you apply them. Depending on your screen resolution and whether your PowerPoint window is maximized, this check box may be hidden from view. If it is, pause your mouse over the small arrow at the bottom of the task pane, and the pane will scroll up so that you can see the hidden fields.

If you gesture to the screen and keep looking at the audience, the group has a choice to focus on the screen or on you. This is because you are facing them and, technically, so is your visual. If you turn your head to look at the screen as you gesture toward it, you force the audience to focus more on the visual than on you.
