Swift Functions and Its Open Source Future

This webcast will focus on Swift functions from their basic form to more advanced uses, including accepting arguments, different types of arguments, single vs. multiple return types, and implications altering values outside of a function. We will also discuss chaining functions together to achieve results by piecing bits together, as well as guarding against bad input. Finally, we’ll take a look at the documented road map ahead with Swift 3.0 on the horizon, and some of the changes listed to occur in the next version.

BJ Miller

BJ Miller, a technology enthusiast for nearly two decades, has been writing iOS apps for more than five years and is currently a full-time iOS developer for DXY Solutions, a mobile, web, and design company in the Cleveland, OH area. He is co-organizer of the Cleveland CocoaHeads Meetup and presents iOS-related topics there and at other various Mac and iOS conferences such as CocoaConf and CodeMash. He currently co-hosts a podcast titled Concepts in Code with Hank Turowski, discussing mostly topics in Swift and Test-Driven Development. His background also encompasses large-scale enterprise database, infrastructure, networking, and SharePoint Server administration within the United States Department of Defense.
