Templates, Style Guides, and Forms
In addition to the global template that you must attach to your documents, you may also encounter other templates or forms such as, for example, the template used for your book’s front matter. All that is often required in these cases is that you fill in the information required and send it on to the party who needs it.
Use the style guides that we provide. They will help you understand the various elements that can appear in a chapter. They will make it clear which paragraph style gets applied to which book element. They will tell you how to capture screen shots with Snag-it. They have specifics on figure specs. If you have general questions about style issues (What is the difference between a footnote and a bibliography entry? How do I do punctuation in quotes?), consult the Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition or consult with your editors.
If you require a form, such as a permissions form, check with your editor or his or her assistant.
