PTG Distribution

Sales

Our sales force is unparalleled in its ability to sell titles into every possible channel. PTG has more than 185 sales representatives who call on major distributors, national booksellers, and corporate markets, and is represented in the education market by either Addison-Wesley or Prentice Hall sales force. International sales are managed by local Pearson companies that sell into every channel in almost every country in the world. Our corporate sales force calls on companies that may use our products as premiums, in company training, or in other applications. We also have a rights department dedication to foreign translations.

Major National Bookstore Chains

PTG products are distributed through major U.S. national bookstore chains, including Barnes & Noble.

Online Bookstores

All PTG products are carried within corporate desktop bookstores and major online bookstores, such as Amazon.com, bn.com, and bookpool.com, both in the U.S. and abroad. Over eighty retailers receive weekly updates with detailed information to help customers make informed decisions when making an online purchase.

Major Wholesales and Distributors

PTG has a large independent bookstore sales force to call on the many technical bookstores and small chains across the U.S., totaling more than 2,200 storefronts. This sales force helps to ensure PTG titles are available for sale in every appropriate bookstore across the U.S.

Catalogs

Every published PTG title receives more than 150,000 impressions in various catalogs produced by Pearson. These catalogs are sales tools that promote our books and offer relevant information to help book buyers make informed purchasing decisions.

Direct/E-commerce

All PTG books are available for direct sales to readers at their imprint site and InformIT.com, a Pearson-owned online bookstore and technology portal that is currently the third largest e-commerce bookstore in the U.S.

Safari

Safari is a searchable electronic reference library for IT professionals that enables subscribers to immediately access thousands of books from leading technology authors and publishers and build their own customized library. With Safari you can conduct searches on more than 6,500 titles, read books from cover to cover, and browse books by category.
