Bill Pearson has been working with computers and data since beginning as an auditor at KPMG Peat Marwick in Atlanta in 1987. After becoming a CPA, he moved into management accounting, internal auditing, and various capacities of controllership. Bill entered the world of databases and information systems with his next move to become a consultant for CODA-Financials, a U.K. - based software company that hired only CPA's to implement and maintain its integrated financial database.

At CODA Bill became proficient in the deployment of financial databases and business intelligence systems for many global clients. Working with SQL Server 6.5, Oracle, Sybase and Informix, and focusing on SQL Server through certification, Bill's created Island Technologies Inc. in 1997, and has developed a large and diverse client base. Bill's background as a CPA, Internal Auditor and Management Accountant enable him to provide value to clients as a liaison between Accounting / Finance and Information Services.

Bill has implemented the Cognos Business Intelligence Suite and various financial systems for over seven years for many Fortune 500 companies, and has invested significant time and energy in the MSSQL Server 2000 OLAP / Analysis Services components that have recently come along. He contributes articles and ongoing support to various database and business intelligence newsgroups. Bill believes it is easier to teach technical skills to people with non-technical training than vice-versa, and he constantly seeks ways to graft new technology into the Accounting and Finance arenas.
