James A. Larson

Dr. Jim A. Larson is chairman of the W3C Voice Browser Working Group that is standardizing VoiceXML 2.0 and related markup languages for developing speech applications. Jim works for Intel Corporation, in which he is Manager of Advanced Human Input/Output. Jim also teaches courses in developing speech applications at Portland State University and the Oregon Graduate School in Oregon Health and Sciences University. He is a columnist for Speech Tech magazine, and is co-program chair for Speech Tech Conference in New York (Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, 2002). His book, VoiceXML: Introduction to Developing Speech Applications, was published in June 2002 by Prentice Hall. Jim also presents lectures and workshops on building speech applications.
