Eric Havir is Senior Marketing Manager for Microsoft Surface at the Microsoft Corp. He has been leading Digital Communications efforts for the Microsoft Surface team since February 2008. In this role, Havir works in conjunction with Web sites, blogs and social media. He has always been interested in alternative computer input devices, and was particularly interested in Surface. The fact that Surface is a new category of computing that has turned the computer world on edge is what encouraged Havir to join the Surface Computing team.
Before joining the Surface team, Havir was a senior online product manager for the Microsoft Corp. Web site and a senior online product manager for the company’s Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners Group. Before joining Microsoft, Havir was the director and webmaster for Ameriprise Financial Inc., where he worked on various marketing efforts that fostered the company’s growth within the financial services industry. Prior to Ameriprise, Havir was the director and webmaster at American Express Co.
