Interested in promoting InformIT products on your website? Pearson has joined the LinkShare™ Network. When you sign up as a LinkShare affiliate, you can create referral links to point to product and promotion pages on InformIT.com. You'll receive commission for any sales resulting from users following those links.

1. What is the Pearson Affiliate Program?
Online affiliate marketing is a simple and cost-effective marketing model where you can post online offers on your own website and earn commissions on sales from any customer who purchases your book direct from Pearson after coming through your site.
2. How much revenue can I earn as a Pearson Affiliate?
Your revenues from the program will be based on an exclusive set commission structure for our Pearson authors:
- 10% on all book sales
- 20% on all digital product sales (videos, eBooks, short cuts, etc.)
Note: It's important to note that your commissions aren't solely based on purchases of your own book, but of the entire purchase that a customer makes. So, you are commissioned on the total amount of the order for each customer, which will often include multiple products.
3. Can I join the Pearson Affiliate Program if I'm already participating in another affiliate program (Amazon, B&N)?
There are no restrictions when participating with our program. Authors are free to continue to participate with other programs.
4. How do I register to join the Pearson Affiliate Program?
The first step to joining the Pearson Affiliate program is to register with the LinkShare Network (must have cookies/JavaScript enabled).
Upon completion of your LinkShare registration, you can apply to become a member of the Pearson Affiliate Program. Your application process will be as follows:
- Within a few days of submitting your application, LinkShare will notify you of your approval status.
- Access your affiliate dashboard and select Pearson Education as the merchant program to join.
- Click on 'Programs.'
- In the right corner of the screen is a box titled 'Advertiser Search;' type Pearson Education into the box and click 'Go.'
- Select InformIT and click 'Apply.' - Notify our affiliate program manager with your login name so he can quickly identify you and add you to the program immediately.
- Download the new Pearson links from the LinkShare 'Create Links' section.
If you are already a LinkShare member and wish to enroll in the Pearson Affiliate program through LinkShare, your application process will be as follows:
- Log in to your LinkShare account and select Pearson Education from the list of merchant programs.
- Within a few days of submitting your application, LinkShare will notify you of your approval status.
- Once you are approved, Pearson is automatically added to your list of merchants.
5. What happens after registration is completed?
Once registration is complete, you can access the InformIT program from your dashboard on LinkShare.com.
- From the dashboard, affiliates can access all the Pearson links and banners.
- Select the links you wish to use and copy and paste the code on your site(s).
- LinkShare tracks all activities and commissions, and affiliates can access up-to-date reporting tools through the dashboard.
6. How do I get custom text and banner links created to promote my books and other products?
For custom links, please contact our Affiliate Marketing Manager. Text links can be created for you within a day. Banner requests will be sent to our creative department and can usually be created within a week.
7. How do I get the code for the text and banner links to place on my site?
Links are uploaded to the LinkShare system after they have been created. You can then log in to your LinkShare account and follow these steps:
- Click on the Links tab from the dashboard.
- Click on the appropriate imprint program.
- For a list of the creative banners or buttons, click on the Banners/Images tab.
- For a list of text links, click on the Text/Email tab.
- Locate the link you want to use in the list provided (searchable by link name or ID #, which our affiliate program manager will provide to you).
- Click Get Link.
- Copy the entire code provided and paste it onto your site. See sample code for a text link.
8. How can I track the success of my links?
You can track the success of your links using the LinkShare reporting tools accessed through your affiliate dashboard. Your account information is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
9. When do I get paid?
Payments are processed monthly by LinkShare, and are paid out within three to four weeks of monthsโ end. Payments can either be made via direct deposit or by check. Affiliate payments come directly from LinkShare, not from Pearson.
10. What form of payment will I receive?
As an affiliate you have the option of receiving monthly payments by check or direct deposit. Your preferred method of payment is selected at the time of the registration. If you choose to receive payment by check, LinkShare will mail your checks to the address you provided when you registered to join the Affiliate Program.
