Backing Up Using a Backup Tool

The simplest way to back up a computer’s NetInfo domain and all the other data stored on the computer is by using a full-featured Mac OS X backup tool. Backup tools provide the most solid way to back up and restore all data. However, these tools often require you to restore larger pieces of data than simply restoring the NetInfo domain itself, which can prove to be more time-consuming than necessary. However, using it can be an effective solution, and a good backup strategy is always a good thing to have. You can choose to back up the entire boot drive of a computer to achieve a backup of the NetInfo database or you can back up the /var/db/netinfo directory.
