One Size Fits All?

If you just want a single sound to announce your email, you're almost done. Click Start, Control Panel, Sounds And Audio Devices; and click the Sounds tab. Under Program Events, scroll down and click New Mail Notification. If it has a little speaker icon to the left, as shown in Figure 2, a default sound is already assigned.

Click the Play button (just to the left of Browse) to hear what it sounds like. This is the sound you're about to abandon. Note the name in case you want to revert later on.

Click Browse to begin your journey to multimedia email. Navigate to where you put the general email wave file you created earlier. Click to select the desired wave file and then click OK. Back in the Sound and Audio Devices Properties box, click the Play button to make sure you chose the right noise. Then click OK.
