When you are building a Windows application, the UI is extremely important—the speed of your application will be judged by its interface. If you do not use multithreading, any long-running process will look like your program has hung, or at least as if the program is running slowly. Using the techniques covered in this article, you should be able to produce a responsive interface while still accomplishing the processing tasks needed.
