Some Typical Errors in Identifying EQs

  • Multiple sorts of the same data do not count as additional EQs.

  • Different "and/or" parameter selections for the retrieval process do not count as additional EQs.

  • Multiple versions of the same retrievals, even if requested from different screens or windows or via different buttons or keys, do not count as additional EQs.

  • Menu screens used for navigation or selection should not be counted.

  • Data passed between online and batch within the same application should not be counted; it doesn't cross the boundary.

  • Data passed between client and server within the same application should not be counted; it doesn't cross the boundary.

  • Data that is not retrieved from maintained data (for example, hard-coded or static data) should not be counted even if retrieved via a list box.
