What About Data Files?

The File and Settings Transfer Wizard gives you the chance to select between files and settings, or both, to migrate. You can migrate files through the use of 3.5-inch disks, a direct cable connection, or via a shared network drive. The questioning in the File and Settings Transfer Wizard, however, seems backward. The location of the files you want to transfer is asked before the point of asking if you want to transfer the files. It would appear that the process will be better defined in the final release of Windows XP Pro. For the time being, when you launch the File and Settings Transfer Wizard, you have to decide that you are migrating both for the settings selected at the beginning of the wizard to be accurate.
