Conclusions

It would appear that a type-2 FLS is able to directly address all three types of uncertainty—fuzziness, strife, and nonspecificity. I have examined all of these kinds of uncertainty and have shown how a type-2 FLS—one that makes use of type-2 fuzzy sets—can be designed to perform well in spite of them. They are able to do this because they use type-2 fuzzy sets that directly model uncertainties.
