IBM is not alone in its pursuit of better usability for its corporate site. The larger the company, the more important this is, and the more challenging. Solving these challenges is often a double-edged sword, however. If we build dynamic applications with JavaScript, we undercut our search efforts in the process. With its ability to find and index content within JavaScript, Google’s new crawler holds the potential to help companies improve usability and search effectiveness. Savvy marketers should start preparing for the day when the new crawler is widely deployed.
