What's On the Horizon?

Apple makes no secret that every year or so an entirely new and more advanced model of the iPhone and/or iPad gets released, making the older versions outdated (but not necessarily obsolete) rather quickly.

Even though Verizon has only just begun selling the iPhone 4, for example, rumors are already circulation about the iPhone 5, which could offer access to the latest 4G wireless networks, which are significantly faster than the existing 3G networks.

Because all versions of the iPhone and iPad utilize the same Apple iOS operating system, and are compatible with the same apps, this expands the life of older iPhone and iPad models by a year or two. However, to utilize the most current hardware, purchasing the latest model is necessary. Thus, plan on having to purchase new iPhone or iPad hardware every two years before your existing hardware will most likely become obsolete.
