Tabbed Browsing

Tabbed Browsing

When Microsoft released Internet Explorer, one of the most widely publicized features was tabbed browsing. Although tabbed browsing seems to work well for desktop and laptop computers, it has never been available in a Microsoft mobile browser—until now (well, sort of).

If you look back at Figure C, you will notice that one of the icons at the bottom of the screen shows what looks like two pieces of paper with the number 2 written on one of them.

You can use this icon to open multiple browser windows, as shown in Figure E. It isn't true tabbed browsing, but for the very first time you can have multiple Web pages open at the same time.

Figure E Windows Phone 7 allows you to open multiple browser windows.
