5. Control Photo Tags

Tons of photos and videos are commonly posted and shared on Facebook daily, and sometimes the images are embarrassing or incriminating enough to cause problems when people are identified with tags. To keep tagged photos or videos of yourself from showing up in your news feeds, turn off the option:

  1. From the Choose Your Privacy Settings page, click the Customize Settings link in the Sharing on Facebook section, and scroll down to the Things Others Share heading.
  2. Click the Photos and Videos I’m Tagged In drop-down menu and change the setting (see Figure 5).
  3. To turn off tagging completely, select the Customize option to open the Custom Privacy dialog box, click the These People drop-down menu, and choose Only Me.
