On the Rocks, Please

Except for luxuries, people don't buy because of what that product is. They buy ice, candy bars, or any other product because of what that product can do for them.

If you want to keep selling ice to Eskimos, you'd better keep track of how the Eskimos use your ice and why they need or want it. New ice inventions have no place unless the Eskimos gain additional value from them.

The moment that you start thinking about creating new ice just to make more money—not to make the Eskimo a happier buyer—is the moment that your future starts melting away.

Niuvirpuq piujujaq siku, Inuvialuk! (I apologize for any inaccurate use of Inuktitut.)
