Fandango lets you find local movies and showtimes, and then buy tickets online. Choose a movie and type in your ZIP code, or just submit your ZIP code to see a selection of what’s playing near you. Then use a credit card to buy tickets. There’s lots more on the site besides ticketing: Play games, watch movie trailers, read reviews and the site’s blog, and learn more about your favorite movie or actor.

Much more than a place to find out when movies are playing and buy tickets (although of course you can do that), Hollywood.com covers all things Hollywood. Here you’ll find movie news and celebrity bios, interviews, and gossip. You’ll also find trailers, DVD and TV info, forums, contests, and fan sites. When you search for a movie, you get a ton of results: information about the movie, but also the trailer, clips, still photos, reviews, and so on. You can create an account, which gives you your own page on the site; keep a blog; connect with other fans; review films; and participate in the forums. A great site for movie lovers.

The largest theater chain in the United States, Regal hosted 242 million moviegoers in 2007.
