Selecting Background Colors

You can also select the background color of text blocks in Visio. For example, the text in Figure 3.42 is light green (as displayed in black-and-white in the figure, of course).

How can you set a text block's background color? Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Text tool in the Standard toolbar.
  2. Select the text block you want to format.
  3. Select Format > Text or right-click the text and select Format Text. Visio shows the Text dialog.
  4. Click the Text Block tab. Visio displays the Text Block tab, as shown in Figure 3.43.

  5. Select the Solid Color radio button in the Text Background area.
  6. Select a color from the Solid Color drop-down box. Visio shows the color selected.
  7. Slide the transparency slider, if desired, to set the color's transparency.
  8. Click OK. Visio closes the Text dialog.
