Conclusion

As I mentioned earlier, a certain amount of craziness is part of the fun and labor of being a third-party software developer. Yet, having this craziness affect your peace of mind, bank account, and work quality is no good. The Five Rules won't eliminate the craziness from your professional landscape, but they can reduce it dramatically when applied to your day-to-day activities. Making software is a wonderful, honorable vocation. The world needs more—not fewer—competent, prosperous third-party developers providing extraordinary service and products to clients. Following the Five Rules every day will help us all to achieve this goal.
