Q&A

  1. I often cross time zones and change my laptop accordingly. Will Briefcase be affected by the time changes?

It is possible for Briefcase to make incorrect decisions when copying files using different time zones. You can do very little to make Briefcase happy when you move across time zones. The best thing you can do is resist the temptation to change the laptop's clock while on the road. Keep your laptop clock set the same as your desktop computer, so that when you return to the desktop, Briefcase will have no trouble reconciling your files.

  2. I don't use a desktop PC, so do I need a docking station for my laptop?

Actually, those without a desktop are the best candidates for a docking station. When on the road, you can use your laptop, and when you return to your desk, you can use the laptop's processor as your desktop PC. The docking station can connect to a full-screen monitor, keyboard, mouse, modem, and printer. To access these devices and to configure your laptop to use those devices, you only insert (dock) your laptop into the docking station, and Windows reconfigures itself for the new devices.
