| History | Open the History pane (displays in the left side of the My Computer window) listing recently opened files and folders. From here, you can reopen those files and folders. |

| Views | Cycle between the Large Icon, Small Icon, List, and Detail and Thumbnails views (click the down arrow next to views to select one of these views from a list or choose to view the folder as a Web page). |
The My Computer window also has an Address Bar, which lists the path of the current folder. To view another folder, enter the path in the Address box and press Enter. The Address Bar contains a list of all locations on your desktop. If your Address bar is not showing, choose View, Toolbars, Address Bar from the menu.
The Address Bar also lets you open programs by simply typing the path and filename of the executable file that starts the program (such as C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe) and then pressing Enter.
If you're connected to an intranet or to the Web, enter the address of a Web page in the Address box (such as www.microsoft.com) and press Enter to open Internet Explorer and search for that page. When you use My Computer in conjunction with Internet Explorer, you might want to add the Links toolbar to your windows by choosing View, Toolbars, Links. The Links toolbar has buttons that act as shortcuts to Web pages. You don't have to open Internet Explorer first to open the Web pages available from the Links toolbar.
