Deleting Old Messages
After you begin sending and receiving messages, you'll soon accumulate quite a few. To delete old messages, follow these steps:
- Select the messages you want to delete. To select more than one message, press and hold the Ctrl key as you click each message header.
- Click the Delete button on the toolbar or choose Edit, Delete.
Deleted messages are moved to the Deleted Items folder. If you need to retrieve a message deleted by accident, display the contents of the folder by selecting it from the Folder List. Then select the message you wish to save. Drag the message to the folder in which you want to keep it. For example, drag the message to the Inbox folder in the Folder List.
To empty the Deleted Items folder, right-click on it in the Folder List, and select Deleted Items from the shortcut menu that appears.
In this lesson, you learned how to send and receive messages with Outlook Express . In the next lesson, you learn about Windows security.
