Opening and Closing Outlook Express Mail
Outlook Express is a program from which you can send and receive email messages and read and post newsgroup messages. Here, we discuss the email (short for electronic mail) portion of the program. Email messages are sent by entering an email address, typing your message, and instructing Outlook Express to send the email. In addition to text, you can include file attachments with your messages, such as a sales worksheet or a company profile.
You can start Outlook Express Mail in various ways:
- Click the Launch Outlook Express button on the Quick Launch toolbar.
- Double-click the Outlook Express icon on the desktop.
- Select Start, Programs, and Outlook Express.
As you'll see in upcoming sections, you can perform certain tasks from within Internet Explorer without actually starting Outlook Express. For example, you can create and send an email message.
To exit from Outlook Express Mail, choose File, Exit or click the Close button.
