In software testing, I have on occasion worked with some steep politics. I can't fix every environment or repair every struggling dynamic, but I try. It helps to have had healthy, high-functioning team experiences. I look to the past to see what has worked, and try to bring along and apply what lessons I can. When teams and people function better, their product is better. Also, it's much healthier to work where the kinship across teams is strong enough that we can advance to solving higher-level issues.
