Great book. I'm very pleased. I got this book because I needed to learn SQL and I needed to learn it quick! Each lesson took me about 15-30 minutes to go through (I read slow, and then I also did a lot of playing around with the databases at work), but it gave me all the background I needed to start programming.I recommend this book for anyone new to SQL that just needs to learn it quick. It goes through the most commonly used SQL statements and their clauses, gives different examples for the most common DBMS, defines terms (like SQL and DBMS), and is short. There are a lot of advanced topics in the last lessons that he just breezes over (to keep it short), but that's what SQL in 24 hours is for -- to explain advanced topics. Honestly I thought about getting a bigger, more in depth book, but I'm really glad I got this smaller book. I would have been overwhelmed with any others. I felt like this book left off right where I wanted to just jump in and start programming... Read more

As my title says, I haven't completed this book, but as today, it seems to fit the bill. Very easy to understand and very short chapters. For those who are looking to gain more knowledge - maybe you're a newbie - then this book may be for you. My guess is that this doesn't hit the advanced topics. But it's worth the money.
