1.0 out of 5 stars Book Needs lots of work!, April 2, 2012

This review is from: Sams Teach Yourself Mac OS X Lion App Development in 24 Hours (Paperback)
The book follows the typical "24 Hour" book process and they are normaly good; however, this one leaves much to be desired! As another reviewer states - the chapter 8 and 9 code does not work. The code listing in the book leave some very important lines out - lines that are not discussed anywhere in the book.
The Chapter 10 code, simply does not work as explained in the book. I have yet to get it to work while spending more than several hours trying to get the code in the book to work. After three chapters of non-working code with no explanation it makes the reader want to give up.
I also tried to download the code files, but all I get is a 0 byte zip file with no files or code. I have written to the author and received no reply on where is the code, or how to get the code working.
Save yourself some money and do not buy this book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Missing information, April 25, 2012

Would have to agree with some of the reviews that I am seeing on this site. There appears to be quite a few missing steps in the documentation. They really needed to take more time in editing this book. Very dissapointed. If you are going to utilize this book make sure that you have the code samples open and ready to review as you are stepping through.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless after chapter 7, April 22, 2012

Rob Brennan (North Montpelier, VT) - See all my reviews
This book is absolutely terrible. There is a boatload of missing information from it after chapter 7 - including code examples that will not work as outlined. Worse yet, I contacted the publisher because the code samples from the web site would not download correctly. They informed me that this ebook and code samples are not compatible with OS X Lion.

Ummm...Really? Did you see the title of the book?? Worthless.
