Michael Kaye

  • Michael Kaye PhD (Macquarie University) is Associate Professor and was, until recently, Head of the School of Adult Vocational Education at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Previously, he was Head of the Department of Communications Studies at Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education. He has written many journal articles and book chapters on communication, management and education. As well, he has presented many papers at international and national academic and professional conferences. Since 1991 Professor Kaye has coordinated a major subject sequence on Adult Communication Management in the graduate adult education sequence on Adult Communication Management in the graduate adult education program at UTS. Recently he was appointed to the editorial advisory panel of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Vocational Education Research. In addition to some 30 years experience as a teacher and scholar, Professor Kaye has had considerable experience as a management and organisation development consultant to private and public organisations in Australia. Particular areas of expertise in his consulting work are in communication management in organisatons, with emphasis on developing communication competence, including the creative and critical abilities of people in the workplace.
